SUMMARY:Virtual Education - Habits for a Great Night Sleep - Sweet Dreams
DESCRIPTION:Sweet Dreams: How to Fall Asleep More Quickly\, Spend Less Time Awake\, And Get More Sleep \nHabits for a Great Night Sleep \nThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 1 in 3 Americans aren’t getting enough sleep and calls insufficient sleep a public health epidemic. If you’re not getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night\, you may be at risk for a wide range of health consequences. \nAccording to the National Safety Council\, 13% of workplace injuries are linked to fatigue. Their research reveals that 27% of workers have fallen asleep unintentionally at work in the past month\, and 16% have fallen asleep while driving! \nIt’s not just a safety issue. Research by Rand shows that workers who sleep less than six hours a night lose about six days of productivity per year compared to those who get 7-9 hours of sleep. \nSince roughly 30% of your employees may be dealing with sleep issues\, this can result in lost productivity and heightened safety risks. \nIf you struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep\, if you fall asleep when you sit down to watch tv\, if you catch up on sleep on the weekend\, if your performance or memory are impaired\, and if you don’t have as much energy and enthusiasm during the day as you’d like\, discover the sleep habits that will help you get more sweet dreams. \nIn this webinar\, Sharon Lipinski\, CEO & author of 365 Ways to Live Generously: Simple Habits for a Life That’s Good for You and for Others\, will share \n• The 9 bad habits that are ruining your good night’s sleep. \n• The 5 nighttime habits you want to create. \n• The 4-day time habits that set you up for a great night’s sleep. \nEverything is better after a good night sleep and this webinar will help you get it. \n Speaker Bio: \n Sharon Lipinski is the CEO of Habit Mastery Consulting and a Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist who helps organizations turn knowledge into consistent\, safe action on the job. Specializing in workplace habit formation\, she has helped companies improve safety compliance through practical\, behavior-based strategies. Sharon is known for her engaging presentations\, real-world insights\, and ability to connect with workers at all levels. She’s delivered hundreds of hours of training across the country and is the author of 365 Ways to Live Generously. SUMMARY:Virtual Education - NSA CCC-DIB Cybersecurity Services: Strengthening SMB Defenses
DESCRIPTION:Webinar – NSA CCC-DIB Cybersecurity Services: Strengthening SMB Defenses \n Live Virtual Course Via Zoom \nTuesday\, May 13 (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)  \nMalicious actors continually attempt to disrupt company networks by exploiting passive DNS (PDNS) data or discovering unknown vulnerabilities. While large Defense Industrial Base (DIB) companies\, such as prime contractors\, can protect themselves with robust cybersecurity programs\, small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the DIB often lack the resources to implement and maintain such comprehensive defenses. \nThe Defense Industrial Base faces constant cyber threats\, with SMBs particularly vulnerable due to limited resources. To address this\, the NSA Cybersecurity Collaboration Center offers free\, enhanced services to DoD contractors: \n1. Passive DNS monitoring\n2. Attack surface management\n3. Real-time threat intelligence \nThis initiative strengthens the entire DIB’s cybersecurity posture\, bridging the gap between prime contractors and SMBs. \n Instructor \nSamantha Anim is currently the Campaign Manager at the National Security Agency\, Cybersecurity Collaboration Center. In this role\, she is responsible for increasing partnership participation and enrollment into NSA provided no-cost cybersecurity services for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) companies to help them defend against Nation-state and other cyber actors. \nPrior Agency experience includes Chief Operating Officer of Threats to National Security Systems and Technologies. In this roll she would oversee daily tasks and ensure support was being provided. She also served as a Special Agent in Security and Counterintelligence. \nOffered through MCAA Affiliate Alliance

SUMMARY:Virtual Education - Generating Sales Interest with Powerful Questions
DESCRIPTION:To spark a buyer’s interest\, a seller must clearly identify needs and offer solutions that solve or create opportunities. This is best achieved with a multi-step questioning mode that uncovers buyer interests\, identifies their perspectives\, and creates tailored capability statements for each buyer. \nGathering information is arguably the most crucial phase of any sales process. SUMMARY:Learn to Manage Customer Hostility
DESCRIPTION:Course Description \nSteve was raised in the mechanical contracting industry and spent over 15 years managing home warranty repairs. He discovered the sooner a problem can be moved to resolution and kept out of the hands of management\, rating services and/or lawyers\, the sooner contractors can move on to service the next customer. His experience and time spent in the field of HVAC work prepared him to be an effective trainer. \nSteve’s course will start with a dramatic\, real-life scenario to provide the audience with a picture of the mindset of the customer. Next\, he will introduce four classic stages of anger and outline what how to address each. \nThe four stages of anger include: \n\nCalm – No resolution needed.\nAnnoyed – Need resolution.\nFrustrated – The customer is asking for the company to bend\, provide more than what is normal.\nFurious – The customer wants to see the company suffer and they do not care how much money and time they must exhaust to get it.  This is caused by an egregious lack of concern on the company’s part.\n\nRealistically\, any person in a company who is answering a phone\, email\, instant message or greeting someone in person needs to understand that customers are classified at level two where stress has already escalated enough to begin communicating with your business. \nEveryone\, including customers\, can move through the four stages of anger. Steve will demonstrate this using many situations to address circumstances leading to each level of anger and verbal tools to seek a resolution. He will teach techniques on how to deal with customers\, provide service technicians and staff with the tools to better deal with each other so no one feels marginalized.

SUMMARY:Who is the Engineer Here? A Study of Design Delegation\, Design Assist\, and the Role of BIM
DESCRIPTION:Course Title:      Who is the Engineer Here? A Study of Design Delegation\, Design Assist\, and the Role of BIM \nCredit Hours: 1.5 \nInstructor:         Tim Wentz \nThis course is designed for members/contributors of the MCA of NW Ohio and will be offered April 26\, 2023\, from 9:30 am – 10:45 am. \nCourse description: \nBuilding Information Modeling (BIM) is a powerful design and construction tool that has the potential to transform our industry. At the same time\, BIM can significantly blur the line between design and construction\, a condition that occurs all too frequently. This presentation looks at some of the common pitfalls in Design-Bid-Build contracts that create design ambiguity\, and strategies contractors can employ to avoid inadvertent design liability that generates BIM cost overruns. \nOffered through MCAA Affiliate Alliance
